Well..an early Merry Christmas to you, if I don't have the opportunity to tell you in person!
What a busy season!! And, while you will all be traveling and spending time with your lovely Norman Rockwell of a family..we will be here..without all the drama of shopping and craziness...and not so Rockwelly..!!
Let's recap our year..shall we!!
Evan potty-trained..check!
Olivia starting to speak..a lot..and whine..check!
Respite for Scott and I...check, check..!
Me feeling like life is springing forth in us all..check, check..check, check!
Now, my attention will be focused on a "new" season..a time for us to learn to live a little, to step out a little..and with that means we will fall..a lot..!! And, that will take a lot of prayers, encouragement and support from you..my friends and family..when it seems as if we've been addicted to the falling part..!
Currently, there is a kindergarden out there for Evan..but, at the moment God is keeping it a secret.
I can't tell you how blessed we are to be apart of this school district...it is so incredibly awesome..! We have dozens of top schools that we can choose from..with no hassle at all. As long as we are in this district, we can choose what we like. And, can I even tell you there is a team of autism specialists at most shchools that know how to work with kids on the spectrum, and will be ready for Evan when he gets there. It makes me feel overwhelmed with so much at our fingertips..and as much as everybody gets all sappy about their kids growing..I don't.
And, you know why?
Because I have seen Evan be delayed enough.
Trust me, I am not in any hurry for him to be a hairy faced teenager..but, I do enjoy seeing the growth he has gone through. And, if I could read all the e-mails to you from his pre-k teachers and the autism specialists he has now, you would even see how excited they are, to see how far he's come in a year!
And, here's Olivia..coming up with a bit of a personality of her own. I can't wait to get some professional pictures of her next year, for her second birthday in the spring. And, then we have May for Evan's five year birthday.
We are praying that Scott can be a permanent part of the AF Academy..if God has this as his plan for us. And, I do ask you to petition for us there, too..if you will!!
There is so much we love about Colorado..and so much we haven't done or seen yet..! They say this is not a vacation, but a destination...VERY true!!
So, we are not ending 2011 with a sad or bittersweet note. We are celebrating all our hard work and trying, as much as we can with a 19 month old and 4 year old, to find our joy!!
So..Merry Christmas...and celebrate the "new" season..awaiting for us to break in!!
May God not just give you a heap of blessings...but, may you allow him to show you what lies behind the blessings...!!
