always hope...always...!

Just a disclaimer..I am just as tired of writing about autism as you are reading it..!!
I REALLY want to tell you the latest and fabulous things I find on pinterest..or I want to tell you what recipes I've tried (or my hubby has tried!) and share. So often, I want to BE that cool mom who has an awesome blog and is super successful at selling their stuff on etsy. But, sadly, I HAD to have a card making fetish in a world where people really don't send cards anyore..and I totally stink at anything business related!! (insert laughter in spite of myself..!) :)
Don't feel sorry for me..in any case..autism or card making..!
I had to give a brief understanding of autism for those who don't understand it...because it seems as if the number from 1 in 80 who are diagnosed has gone down to 1 in 50.
So, if it keeps up..we may be having several grand-children with this..so, we should all pay attention in my opinion..!
:)
Anyways, I have to say that Evan is doing well...on an educational note. Although, his behavior has kicked up quite a bit in school. We are meeting as a team with the school to see what's going on, and I'm pegging it to a few things.
1. our move
2. he lost his little friend in January who was the go-between friend to the other members of the class. (sort of like his translator)
3. he's found a pattern of behavior that he's gotten used to and we need to go in an jog the equation he's entered into his head with a new set of responses for a different set of behaviors.
4. it's been snowing here forever and a day..and he's been couped up inside all day..did I mention he only goes to half day kinder...yeah...long day for us sometimes!!!
So, with all these things it seems to be a mixture of dumb-luck for us..and just uncontrollable things that have happened.
We did manage to get an ABA therapist and they are working with us at a much more reasonable rate than $50 an hour.
God has been pretty good..and I am and have been expecting great things from him this year. It seems as if it's been an impossible start from January 1st and boy has my faith been knocked about like a heavy rainstorm in the middle of the ocean and I'm the little dingy boat..! (Ever read that children's book The Yellow Ball..yeah, that's what I feel like..!) But hope we have..and some of you have given me more hope than you realize. I am taking a picture for a visual..can you find the yellow ball?!!

Never forget the hope you have to give others..it may seem silly or small..but if we can hope, we can find a will power to move forward.
So, continue to pray for us..whether I say I need it or not...! Keep up with all the tender words of encouragement with me and with anyone else who's going through this or with the million other things that drag us down in life.
My next post will hopefully be an interview with Olivia, so you can see my now 3 year old and how beautifully she's come along. Evan's will be towards the end of the month, around his 6th birthday!
And I'm super happy that it will not be snowing tomorrow and we'll be back up to warm weather again..like it's supposed to be in May...!! :D
Here's what it looks like outside my window..brrrrrrr...rrrrr...rrr..rrrr..r!

Tomorrow is totally something great to hope for...for real, though...for real!!
