I got to thinking about a couple of things that really surprise me about people...and it's not really the bad or odd things people do...it's more the random acts of kindness and goodness that I get that really shocks me at times...so, here I list my top ten..If I can make it...lol!!
1. When people actually call and talk to you on the telephone
2. When people call you back right away, because they were "actually" away from their cell-phone...and want to talk to you...!
3. When people can laugh at my silliness..because they have realized they have much if their own...and not because they want to make fun.
4. when people actually "want" my family over for dinner...craziness and all..!
5. When people prepare meals for people in need with a busy schedule, and a tight-budget..and then deliver it.
6. When someone writes me a letter or sends me a card.
7. When someone encourages me..with more than the generic expected responses..that can say words from their heart with courage and sincerity.
8. When people can be honest about their weaknesses.
9. When people can courageously admit they believe in Christ..even when we all know people don't agree or like it...but, you know and appreciate that we don't live in a society that forbids it.
10. When people speak well of others in their absence..instead of picking them to death of their faults.
I want to yell sometimes that we all have some "major faults"...some people are a little more obvious..but the majority of people's are a lot more subtle..or at least they think... so join the club folks..no matter how pretty you are, how confident you are, how close in Christ you think you are, how many bible studies you lead, how long you've been married, how old you are, how smart you are, how much time you spend in the "soup kitchen" or doing other serving jobs, or how hard you try hide them..you got em'...so, own up to em'...and then find the strength and courage to ask God to help change your heart...it will take you you're entire life...but, you will get to celebrate how far you've come each step of the way..and it does feel awesome...I will attest to it wholeheartedly and openly..I'm a hot mess sometimes...go on..defriend me now...lol!
