This is long overdue, but I would like to issue my sincerest apologies for all my friend's of typical kiddos who've tried to offer a small amount of encouragement and support along the way, only to be thwarted by my selfishness.
This is painful for me to write, only because I didn't know you were trying to help in the only way you knew how..and partly because I was really more angry with you because I felt it unfair that I had to walk this road alone, and not have all my dreams of a typical child be so different from yours.
I know you probably understand I had good reason, and you probably stopped trying to encourage me because you didn't want to cause more pain. I do see now..I do.
And even though I snapped and had my issues, I needed you..but, you see..I didn't want to need you..!
So, take heart, my dear friend's, if I could turn back the hands of time, I would have let you tend to me like you wanted to and like I needed you to. I would have set down my pride and humbled myself..if I had only known what healing could have come from it.
You prayed..I know..and, from the deepest part of me I love you all the more for it.
