Happy 2013!!
Well, it's been a good year for us..and looking forward to an even better year this 2013.
As for our holidays..well, for whatever reason this year, I've been absolutely exhausted. I can't explain it..mentally and physically I feel like it's been a challenging season.
Thanksgiving was interesting..we had Scott's parents in with the 4 grandkids. But, Evan and Olivia had an AWESOME time with their cousins..and Grandpa and Grandma..!!
After Thanksgiving though, Evan regressed (which I should have been better prepared for because he does this every holiday break) and on top of it...got sick. So, it was a miserable week for us..and on top of it I spent the entire week trying to prepare for a craft show making cards (because I signed up for it the week before) when I should have been paying more attention to what he needed and following up. (Insert the mom guilt here..!)
To add to my frustration I sold $0 at the craft fair (actually -$15 per the cost of the table). There was absolutely no advertisement for it..and another craft fair going on right down the street with lots of signs.
My friend Sarah made the Dragon glass jewelry..and did manage to sell a few things despite our lack of customers..but, she fires her own jewelry and it is very unique..not something you see many places..!

I wanted to throw the towel in..but, I didn't.
And...
I take it as a lesson learned for a "first" at craft fairs..and put one foot in front of another and keep taking little steps forward...even if it seems as if I'm not getting anywhere.
And, to add insult to injury this season, I have also been out of it..forgetting appointments..missing things..just really not myself.
Wonder if anyone else has had a frustrating Holiday season..?
I think the tragedy alone in Newtown, CT is hard enough for any of us to get our minds past. Every holiday for the families who lost their child..will be hard..
And I hug my kids..pray over them for safe-keeping
And take time to reflect..and get my perspective in check..
...2012 has been an incredible year for us.
Ending with a snowy, quiet little Christmas. The children woke up with the excitement of Santa coming..
We have had great strides with Evan, (and he is much better than that week after Thanksgiving!) and you all helped pray for Scott to get a permanent position at the A.F. Academy..in which HE GOT!! And, by the way..thanks for your prayers..they were seriously going to hire someone else until the last minute. (A sidenote..I did pray for them to loose sleep until they gave him the proper evalutation..and he got the job that following week..!!) God is amazing..and I'm getting teary eyed thinking of how faithful he's been..and how I've been sadly the opposite..!
And he still loves me anyways..far more than I could ever love him. How do you get your mind around that? You can try..I'll just sit in awe of his wonder..!!
Soooo, with his Grace..now we can call Colorado Springs our home..and plant our feet..!!
We have a close date for January 28th..and movers to come and pack us up (compliments the military for ONE last move when we separated)
And, Scott also managed to get a Reserve position here at the A.F. Academy in conjunction with his job. In fact, he's on duty this week...!
Our insurance covers ABA..but, we still have copays and such..so, we up it when he needs it..and go from there.
It is good for my soul to count my blessings..and most of all know that I have two beautiful children and one hunk of a superman husband (who cooks!)..and a gracious God..who keeps loving me..no matter what..HE just won't stop!!
Happy New YEar..may it be incredible for you and your family!! With Love, The Iacono's
