Busy summer here..!!
I am really glad we've had a busy summer. In the past few years I've learned with Evan that not having things for him to do..well, it's not good for any of us!!
So, this summer he did summer school June and July and ABA at the center most of the week. We also are taking advantage of using our insurance benefits over the summer before we change over in Sept. So that means we are doing Speech twice a week along with an hour of social group and an hour of OT. Tightly squeezed into the week with all the other stuff!!
Most mornings I am usually at the Y.M.C.A with one or both kids, but today I needed some down time. And, I think my kids deserved some, too!
Still, it requires quick thinking because t.v. doesn't do it for us. After about an hour Evan starts to bounce from one piece of furniture to another..no joke!!
Pinterest saved us with a liquid sidewalk chalk recipe:
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
And I added a teaspoon of crayola paint instead of food coloring
So, here they are painting a cardboard box..and they've enjoyed themselves immensely!! Allowing me to take a few pictures and write this without much drama. (that's Evan, b.t.w pretending to play the trumpet with his paint brush)
Other news is Scott swore in on Monday as a civilian. He will change from active duty to Reservist mid-Sept and since he will be a federal employee our insurance benefits are actually better than predicted. We'll have lots of co-pays..but, hey, they cover ABA..which is more than most any insurance companies offer!!
Also, we have decided to have a house built, since at the present time it's very reasonable..and we can have a choice of things in our house. We are spending the next few weeks talking to the builders and getting things finalized. February is predicted for a finish date..so, we'll update our progress along the way.
So..at the present moment I have to switch over and feed my princess and prince lunch..it was fun while it lasted!! ;)
